What is a technical performance measurement?
A technical performance measurement or characteristic describes the technical performance of a component, set of components, or all the components of a system. It is the result of a single measurement or a set of measurements. It is often numerical with physical units, presented in a table or a plot. A characteristic can also be a qualitative result; pass or fail. It is appropriate to provide the uncertainty of measurements with confidence intervals or error bars. One example of an imaging characteristic is resolution.
