Help: Controlling Access

When creating a wiki page, you have the two options for access. They are described below.

Wiki page anyone can edit

The name says it all: anyone can edit.

Knowledge article with specific authors

Once you select this access type and save the article, the next time you edit the page, you can add authors and select the following check boxes.

  • Hide author list
    • If this is unchecked, the authors you add will show up at the top of the wiki page.
  • Allow other users to submit suggested changes
    • If checked, the edit tab appears for page non-authors. When a user clicks on the edit tab, they go into edit mode. When they save their changes, no changes are made to the published version. However, the history tab shows the suggested revision and allows for comparisons to published version, and acceptance of suggestions.
  • Allow other users to post comments
    • If checked, a tab for comments will appear at the top of the wiki page.
  • Lock page. Only administrators may make changes.
