    H. Timothy Hsiao is the Director of the Department of Scientific Affairs at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO). He has more than a decade of experience in research and science policy. Before joining ASTRO, he oversaw a nearly $50 million portfolio of translational science investments as Program Director for the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Hsiao has also worked on innovation policy analysis for the NIH Office of the Director, small business innovation for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and epigenetic research for the National Cancer Institute. He is a recipient of the NIH Director’s Award, NCATS Director’s Award, and NIAID Merit Award, and holds a PhD in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University.
