  • Biography
I am an Associate Professor in Residence in the Department of Radiological Sciences and part of the UCLA Medical & Imaging Informatics Group. I am also affiliated with the Department of Bioengineering, the Bioinformatics Graduate Interdepartmental Program, the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the Institute of Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCB).

In the current data-rich healthcare environment, our capacity to collect vast amounts of longitudinal observational data needs to be matched with a comparable ability to continuously learn from the data and tailor clinical decisions to an individual. I am interested in developing computational tools that harness biomedical big data to aid clinicians in formulating timely, accurate, and personalized management strategies for individual patients. My prior work has sought to systematically combine information across different data sources to improve the accuracy and generalizability of models in answering diagnostic and prognostic questions for an individual. I am passionate about helping clinicians and researchers extract actionable information from a growing number of biomedical data repositories, particularly in the area of cancer screening and diagnosis.
