Dear Colleagues, You are invited to attend the final presentation by RTI International of the Nanomaterial Registry Project. The meeting will be held in Bethesda, MD at NIBIB on Thursday, May 12th, at 10:30 am. Additional information is below. I will also send this information via an Outlook invite for addition to your calendars. The Nanomaterial Registry is a web-based resource that organizes and evaluates well-characterized nanomaterials from multiple sources. Developed by RTI International and funded by NIH’s National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) and National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Registry (https://www.nanomaterialregistry.org/) allows researchers from all areas of the nanotechnology field to easily search and compare biological and environmental data on different nanomaterials. By leveraging and developing a set of Minimal Information About Nanomaterials (MIAN) through a community effort, the Registry has developed a data model for data collection and sharing in the nanotechnology field. It facilitates data validation and data quality improvement. It provides means for researchers to infer property and function based on the MIAN and ontology or with modeling tools to mitigate the data sparse issue in data sets when certain type of data are absent for a nanomaterial. We look forward to your participation.
