Biography
Dr. Martin is a behavioral scientist and lecturer. Her research examines psychological factors associated with cancer prevention and control in medically underserved populations including racial/ethnic minorities, low income families, and other at-risk populations. She has completed research projects focused on community health education, screening promotion, and symptom management in the African-American cancer population. Her research has been supported by the Department of Defense, the NIH National Cancer Institute, and the National Science Foundation. Her work has been published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Psycho-Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, and eCancer Medical Science.
