    Nano WG February 12, 2015

    Nanotechnology Data Curation Initiative planning meeting

    Data curation papers, status updates:

    • Framing paper (Stacey Harper). Paper will be submitted to the Journal of Environmental Informatics, impact factor 3.7. Going through institutional clearances.

    • Workflow (Christy Powers)

       Final draft under review by organizations that require internal review prior to journal submission to Special issue on Nanoinformatics Beilstein Journal of Nanotechnology

      March 16-20: Complete online upload/ journal submission

    • Data completeness (Richard Marchese Robinson)

      Four responses have been received to the survey and one additional liaison has responded with feedback without having completed the survey. Article outline (draft) is available in Google docs, work will be completed in July 2015.

       

      Authors for the remaining papers:

       

    • Curator responsibilities: Lead author Karmann Mills. Additional contributors: Mark Hoover, Stephanie Morris, Egon Willighagen, Marty Fritts. Include automated data curation, maybe also add information about automated data curation in the workflow paper. Guideline to publishers.

      Timeline: planning meeting March 5, send questions to liaisons end of March 2015.

    • Data integration: Lead authors Sharon Gaheen and Egon Willighagen. Additional contributors Marty Fritts, Christine Hendren, Dennis Thomas, Stacey Harper, Mark Hoover, Richard Marchese-Robinson, Karmann Mills, John Rumble. Use caNanoLab /NanoRegistry data exchange as a case study.

      Timeline: work to begin end of July 2015

    • Metadata: Lead authors Stacey Harper, CEINT. Additional contributors Fred Klaessig, Christine Hendren, Sandra Karcher, Karmann Mills, Marty Fritts.

    Next Steps:

    February 26 Nano WG meeting will be dedicated for discussion on topics that will be covered in each one of the papers.

    Curator responsibilities kick-off meeting March 5.

    Stacey will contact Christy about including automated data curation in the workflow paper.
