Assistant/Associate Professor | Biomedical Engineering-Virginia Commonwealth University, VA

Faculty member is expected to provide high quality instruction in biomedical engineering graduate and undergraduate courses and to develop new courses as necessary based department needs and the background of the candidate. Demonstrated record of high quality research and scholarship. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the potential to initiate interdisciplinary research and educational synergies among diverse areas. All specializations will be considered, with particular interest in; bioimaging, material science, regenerative engineering, mechanobiology and human factors engineering. Junior faculty will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding, and potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the department and the School of Engineering. At the Associate and Full Professor levels, the faculty member should have a well-developed research portfolio with evidence of multidisciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise within the department. Pediatric Neuro-oncology | Pediatrics-Virginia Commonwealth University, VA

The Program Leader will provide leadership in clinical and translational research and will have additional responsibilities in clinical care and teaching. The division and CHoR are part of the NCI-designated Massey Cancer Center. Currently, the division is the only facility providing pediatric stem cell transplantation in Virginia. The Pediatric Neuro-oncology section includes an outstanding team of neurosurgeons and neuroradiology expertise, and the Program Leader will work closely with the adult neuro-oncology program headed by Dr. Mark Malkin. The division boasts cutting edge research facilities including the newly developed center for zebrafish modeling of human diseases and well-funded laboratories including those studying sphingolipid biochemistry, chromatin remodeling, and developmental therapeutics. Additionally, the division offers a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship with support for a fourth year.

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics of the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont seeks a bioinformatician with experience in molecular biology, genomic data analysis, and programming for a full-time faculty position in primary bioinformatics core of the UVM Larner College of Medicine, the Bioinformatics Shared Resource. The position is a non-tenure track Faculty Scientist position. As a member of a shared resource the Faculty Scientist will support a wide range of internal and external funded research projects, for both individual researchers and large collaborations. Support will include consultation on experimental design, methods support and preliminary data analysis for grants, the design and implementation of genomics-based high-throughput sequencing data analyses pipelines, and secondary analysis of genomics data, including data visualization, and publication text. Integrative of multiple –omics data sets and translational bioinformatics will be required to support of some projects.

Responsibilities of the Senior Program Associate Include:

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
