Samson Gebreab, PhD, M.Sc.

Belem G López, PhD 

I am a new Program Director in the Center for Reducing Cancer Health Disparities and the Diversity Training Branch. Before coming to NIH, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies at The University of Texas at Austin with courtesy appointments in the Department of Psychology and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, where I directed the LLAMA: Psycholinguistic and Sociolinguistic Laboratory. My research examined the long-term cognitive and linguistic outcomes of bilingual language brokering experiences. As a Program Director in CRCD, I will be responsible for managing the R25 Youth Enjoy Science Research Education Program and the Diversity Supplements.
