The department of Health, Behavior, and Society within the College of Public Health is seeking a tenured Professor as a Department Chair. The selected individual will be expected to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students throughout the College and with other colleges within the University. In addition, this position will be viewed nationally as a senior leader complementing and expanding existing departmental and College strengths, including cancer prevention and control, community-based interventions, dissemination and implementation science, practice-based research, and/or health disparities research. The selected individual will maintain an active research program with extramural support from NIH, CDC, health-related foundations, and/or other funding sources.

The Occupational Medicine, Epidemiology & Prevention (OMEP) Dept. is developing a population-based cancer research program and is recruiting a social behavioral epidemiologist, in the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, who has experience in studying behavior related to early detection/intervention of diseases, preferably cancer screening behavior. The researcher is expected to secure extramural funding, perform investigative research, and publish data and results. The researcher may also be involved in teaching and mentoring in epidemiology

Candidates for this full time, state-funded position should possess a doctoral degree in a field relevant to cancer epidemiology. The successful candidate will have a strong publication record in cancer epidemiology and success (or demonstrated potential for success) in attracting external funding, and evidence of teaching courses in cancer and/or chronic disease epidemiology and experience with mentorship of students at the graduate level. Preference will be given to candidates with a research focus on ethnic and/or social disparities in cancer risk and treatment. Application review will begin September 15, 2016, and continue until the position is filled. The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

LesionTracker is an ITCR U24 funded project to create an open-source extensible imaging platform for measuring and longitudinally tracking lesions for oncology clinical trials and research.  The viewer runs in modern HTML5 compliant web-browsers.  We are working with several other ITCR project to integrate our viewer platform with other projects.  All source code as well as demos are available through the github site accessible through the Open Health Imaging Foundation (OHIF) website at www.ohif.org (OHIF is a non-profit 501c(3) foundation that supports open-source medical imaging techologies).

Duties for this position include coordinating the initiation, management and completion of clinical research studies, performing a wide range of clinical and non-clinical tasks associated with conducting clinical research; collaborating with investigators and other team members to achieve research project objectives; ensuring data integrity and compliance with research protocols with the guidance of more senior research staff.   In addition, the Research Assistant will act as a liaison between investigators, sponsors, study subjects, Institutional Review Board, Contract Research Organizations, and ancillary services, and will adhere to U.S. Food and Drug Administration and International Conference on Harmonization regulations as well as individual study protocols.  Other duties, as assigned. 

To perform a wide variety of research study/office and laboratory related functions that will increase research study/office/laboratory efficiency, expedite the work of others, and ensure the smooth operation of the research study/office/laboratory related functions. Provides support to research staff with administrative functions including communications, special projects and development and maintenance of study databases and data entry.

Provides genetic counseling services for Markey Cancer Center patients with a medical or family history of cancer and/or genetic disease and coordinates program services.

Provide exceptional customer service and advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication.

Patient services include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Collect, review and interpret family/medical histories, medical records, test results, and other relevant/necessary information.
2. Coordinate testing and communication of results to referring healthcare providers. 
3. Develop genetic counseling plans, including risk assessment, referrals, education, life planning options, and treatment options.
4. Provide counseling and education to patients and their families. 
5. Identifiy and provide referrals for testing, treatment, support, and advocacy. 
6. Research, maintain, and apply knowledge of trends and developments in genetic disease research.

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level in the Department of Clinical Sciences (http://www.mc.uky.edu/healthsciences/index.html). This position will serve as a community neurologist with job responsibilities on campus at UK Healthcare in Lexington and in Frankfort, KY at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

The Kentucky Rural Rehabilitation Network has developed a Research 101: Everyone Can Do It series of training modules to help engage the community in research. We have developed these modules to help demystify research in order to engage the community in this process.

 The Community Leadership Institute of Kentucky (CLIK), which provides research and leadership training, funding, and technical support for community research projects, is accepting applications for its 2017 class. Applications materials are due Jan. 31 for up to 12 slots. 

This position is a senior-level faculty position who will direct the Cancer Immunotherapy Program. This position will have a key role in advancing the research mission and will be expected to work collaboratively with other members of the Massey Cancer Center.

The Program Leader will provide leadership in clinical and translational research and will have additional responsibilities in clinical care and teaching. The division and CHoR are part of the NCI-designated Massey Cancer Center. Currently, the division is the only facility providing pediatric stem cell transplantation in Virginia. The Pediatric Neuro-oncology section includes an outstanding team of neurosurgeons and neuroradiology expertise, and the Program Leader will work closely with the adult neuro-oncology program headed by Dr. Mark Malkin. The division boasts cutting edge research facilities including the newly developed center for zebrafish modeling of human diseases and well-funded laboratories including those studying sphingolipid biochemistry, chromatin remodeling, and developmental therapeutics. Additionally, the division offers a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship with support for a fourth year.

This is a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. This position serves as the Chair of the Family and Community Health Nursing department in the School of Nursing. The candidate must have demonstrated administrative or leadership experience with a community of scholars. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of funded research in nursing science and willingness and ability to provide visionary leadership and mentorship of faculty colleagues and students. The candidate should have experience in conducting significant research and hold interests that complement and expand existing expertise in the School of Nursing. Research areas of particular interest include biobehavioral clinical research, symptom management, and critical care, oncology, or health promotion across the life span.

he Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Virginia Commonwealth University-School of Medicine (VCU-SOM) is seeking an exceptional investigator pursuing innovative questions relevant to the Department’s research strengths in lipids, metabolism, lipid signaling, protein:lipid interactions, lipidomics, and metabolomics. Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD with an outstanding research record and will be considered at a rank based upon qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be required to have a well-developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in the department. As promoted by VCU, the faculty member should also demonstrate experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU. Leadership positions are available in the Department and the Massey Cancer Center for an outstanding individual with suitable qualifications. Substantial start up and salary packages are available. Faculty member is expected to provide high quality instruction in biomedical engineering graduate and undergraduate courses and to develop new courses as necessary based department needs and the background of the candidate. Demonstrated record of high quality research and scholarship. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the potential to initiate interdisciplinary research and educational synergies among diverse areas. All specializations will be considered, with particular interest in; bioimaging, material science, regenerative engineering, mechanobiology and human factors engineering. Junior faculty will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding, and potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the department and the School of Engineering. At the Associate and Full Professor levels, the faculty member should have a well-developed research portfolio with evidence of multidisciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise within the department. The candidate will be expected to provide high quality service to the department, school, university and professional community.

This position is for a full-time 12-month term (non-tenure-track) Clinical Faculty member in the Department of Family and Community Health. The chief purpose of the position is to assist with project development and service provision for the community based Health and Wellness Program for Older Adults. Primary functions include 1) assisting with precepting of interprofessional student teams including BSN and Master’s nursing students, social work, pharmacy and medical students at the program site; 2) providing care coordination to patients receiving care within the program and 3) assist with program development and refinement and preparation of reports, etc. To effectively implement this role, the incumbent must be highly skilled in communication and organizational skills with clinical knowledge and skills related to chronic disease management for vulnerable community dwelling populations. Experience with interprofessional team collaboration is desired but not required.
