The Bioinformatics Shared Resource of the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont

The Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics of the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont seeks a bioinformatician with experience in molecular biology, genomic data analysis, and programming for a full-time faculty position in primary bioinformatics core of the UVM Larner College of Medicine, the Bioinformatics Shared Resource. The position is a non-tenure track Faculty Scientist position. As a member of a shared resource the Faculty Scientist will support a wide range of internal and external funded research projects, for both individual researchers and large collaborations. Support will include consultation on experimental design, methods support and preliminary data analysis for grants, the design and implementation of genomics-based high-throughput sequencing data analyses pipelines, and secondary analysis of genomics data, including data visualization, and publication text. Integrative of multiple –omics data sets and translational bioinformatics will be required to support of some projects.
