   Groups have different join policies depending on the access control established:

   1. If the group is open, anyone can join to become a member
   2. If the group is restricted, individuals can request membership and a group manager will approve or deny the membership request.
   3. If the group is invite only, membership can only be gained through an invite from the group manager; membership cannot be requested.
   4. If the group is closed, membership cannot be requested.
